CRP r7 is the next round of HammerWorks’ legendary thick PBT Cherry-profile keycaps, bringing back classic beige CRP aesthetics, colourful sublegends and a huge kit selection for everything from 40s and ortho to full-size boards.
About CRP
CRP is HammerWorks’ long-running line of 1.4–1.5 mm PBT, dye‑subbed Cherry-profile keycaps designed to emulate vintage Cherry sets in both look and sound, with that familiar neutral beige base and crisp legends. Across previous rounds (R1–R6), CRP has become a bit of an institution thanks to its modular kit system, wide language coverage, and deep, thocky sound that works on almost any colourway.
In r7 you can expect fan favourites like Desko Black, Tulip and Greek Tulip to return, alongside new, more experimental legend options and accent kits, all built on the same classic CRP base look. As with earlier runs, kits are MX‑compatible and Cherry-profile throughout, so they’ll drop straight onto most custom builds without any fuss.
Kits, layouts and compatibility
CRP rounds are known for “build-your-own” coverage: separate alphas, mods and specialty kits that let you cover multiple boards from the same pool of keycaps. Previous customers have filled everything from Alice-style splits and TMO50s to ortho and 40s layouts out of a single run, and r7 continues that approach with generous support for weird and wonderful form factors.
Thick PBT construction, Cherry profile and MX stems remain standard across all r7 kits, giving you a consistent feel whether you’re building a daily driver, a low‑profile 60%, or a heavily customised split. If you’ve used earlier CRP rounds, you can expect r7 to slot neatly into existing collections, mixing and matching with prior bases, alphas and modifiers to create your own combinations.
Look, feel and sound
CRP’s textured PBT surface and slightly matte finish give a dry, grippy feel that many people prefer over smooth ABS, especially for long sessions. The legends are dye‑sublimated, so they sit cleanly in the plastic with excellent clarity and long‑term durability.
On the board, CRP is known for a deep, rounded sound signature that pairs especially well with poppy linears and tactiles, giving that classic “old terminal” vibe on modern customs. Whether you keep it minimal with blanks and beige or lean into colourful sublegends, the overall aesthetic stays clean, timeless and easy to match with different cases and deskmats.
