QwertyKeys has been with you for almost two years since the launch of our first project - the QK65. During this period, the first generation of QK's products has covered almost all the popular layouts from 60% to 100%. Now, let's unveil the second generation together with the pilot project - the QK75N.

Front Design:

We have opted for non-exploded arrow keys on the QK75N to create a more balanced front design and address the feedback we received from the QK75. Additionally, the bottom row no longer includes any 1.5u keys, which improves compatibility with more keycap sets.

The iconic rotary knob from the QK75 has been inherited and integrated with the acclaimed mini screen from the QK100 to create a consolidated media control panel. The rotary knob supports both turning and pressing, while the mini screen displays the time, date, connectivity modes, battery level, and more all at once. You can also customize their functions using QK Config.

Side & Back Design:

We have once again improved the overall structure of the QK75N. The bottom case, battery compartment, and external weight are now separated. This allows us to apply different colours to each component, which creates a more layered side and back profile.

The replaceable badge on the QK80 has been inherited and utilized as the cover of the dongle pod. Each colorway has its own badge that matches the design theme. Additional screen bezel, rotary knob and badge are also available for purchase if you would like to choose your own.

Unlike previous QK keyboards, the QK75N will be available in 14 pre-set colorways. These colorways are specifically designed to match each badge theme, which also reduces the number of variants and improves production efficiency. As a result, we anticipate a 50% reduction in fulfillment time for all QK75N group-buy orders compared to the QK75.

You can purchase plain badges and tags as additional parts to create a cleaner back profile as well.

Structure:

The QK75N still utilizes the same PCB mount system as its predecessor. However, we have redesigned the gaskets and their positioning to improve the sound profile and offer a more consistent typing feedback. The PCB gaskets are now in 30 duro hardness. Regardless of the plate used, you can expect a softer typing feedback compared to the previous QK75.

We understand that ribbon cables have long been a source of frustration for keyboard enthusiasts. To address this issue, we have introduced a magnetic connector to replace the ribbon cables between the PCB and daughterboard. These magnetic pins will automatically connect and disconnect when the case is opened and closed, eliminating concerns about damaging the ribbon cable during assembly and disassembly.

PCB & Layout:

  • Tri-mode Flex-cut ANSI Hotswap PCB (1.2mm)
    • Using QK Config for functions like key-map changing; doesn’t support QMK/VIA/VIAL
  • Tri-mode Non-flex cut ANSI Hotswap PCB (1.2mm)
    • Using QK Config for functions like key-map changing; doesn’t support QMK/VIA/VIAL

  • Tri-mode Non-flex cut ISO Hotswap PCB (1.2mm)
    • Using QK Config for functions like key-map changing; doesn’t support QMK/VIA/VIAL

Specification:

  • Typing angle: 7 degree
  • Front height: 18.3 mm
  • Weight: around 1.5kg before built, around 2kg after built

Firmware:

All Tri-mode PCBs use QK's proprietary software, QK Config, for functions such as keyboard testing and changing key maps.

Plate:

Plates are available in five materials: FR4, Aluminium, POM, PC, and Carbon Fiber. FR4 and Aluminium plates have flex cuts to provide a softer typing feedback, while PC, POM, and Carbon Fiber plates do not have flex cuts. All plates are universal and can be used for different layouts.
