Appearance Design

The Star Ring Accent Light

Inspired by massive celestial bodies, whose gravity warps surrounding space, the Neo80 Cu’s top case features a multi-layered "star ring" light that captures the brilliance of a planet against the dark night sky.

The central "planet" is crafted from aluminum alloy with a triple-etched finish that resembles a rugged planetary surface. The small stainless-steel piece with mirror finish surrounds it, mimicking the dark universe background. By elevating the planet slightly above the background, the design creates a stunning "floating planet" effect that adds depth to the keyboard.

Weight Design

Building upon its predecessor’s extensive stainless steel weight design, the Neo80 Cu takes this design further by extending the weight all the way to the USB port area. This refinement elegantly showcases the harmonious blend of three distinct materials—aluminuim, copper, and stainless steel—with their complementary colour.

On the back, the intersection of the weight and the bottom case features a carefully sculpted slope that softens transitions. The compass-inspired Cu series logo sits in the center, showcasing the iconic symbolism of the Neo brand.


The Waistline

Viewed from the side, the top and bottom cases merge seamlessly with gentle curves. By avoiding any sharp angles in design, we’ve created an elegant, floating silhouette that perfectly balances the keyboard’s substantial presence.

Structure

Poron Gasket Mount + Silicone Gasket Mount + Top Mount

After extensive prototyping, we’ve integrated the Poron Gasket structure into the Neo80 Cu. Unlike traditional Poron Gaskets that require gluing to the case, we've designed special grooves in the bottom case to securely hold the Poron Gaskets in place. This innovation allows for hassle-free replacement and ensures exceptional durability over time. Of course, we’ve also retained the silicone gasket mount structure as an alternative option for those who prefer it.

Additionally, the Neo80 Cu supports the Top Mount structure for enthusiasts who prefer a stiffer typing experience. Please note that while the Neo80 Cu supports plateless builds with the solder PCB, you cannot use the top mount option with a plateless build since the screw holes are located only on the plate.

Acoustic Chamber Designed with Intergrated Forcebreak

The bottom case, like most products in the Neo family, features a strategically partitioned acoustic chamber design that minimizes hollowness and unwanted resonances. We’ve integrated forcebreak pads at all contact points between the top and bottom cases, significantly reducing vibration and eliminating metallic noise. Combined with the copper base, this design delivers the unique deep and clean "copper bottom" typing sound without any foam—the signature sound that Neo fans love.

Plate

PEI Plate

PEI is an emerging keyboard plate material that offers superior tenacity and stability compared to PC. It delivers a crisp sound and refreshing typing feel with every keystroke. The material’s natural semi-transparent amber color adds a unique, premium character to each build. Rather than using sandblasting, we apply a clear coating to create a smoother, more radiant finish that truly stands out.

Note: Because of its properties, PEI plate may not be perfectly flat after processing. Slight unevenness is normal for this material.

Flex-Cut Aluminium Plate with Glossy Chamfer

After listening closely to our community, we introduced a precisely designed flex-cut aluminium plate to the Neo80 Cu. Through countless rounds of prototyping, we’ve finally selected a balanced flex-cut design that minimizes feedback differences between zones while preserving the distinctive typing feel character of the aluminium plate.

Another innovation is the spring-like structure within the spacebar area. The aggressive grooving on the sides of the spacebar significantly eliminates the harsh typing feel but might raise concerns about durability. We’ve addressed this by adding two spring-like connections within the spacebar that enhance strength without increasing rigidity. Combined with the aggressive flex cut, this design achieves a perfect balance of strength and flexibility.

To make switch installation easier, we’ve added chamfers to every switch hole, with glossy chamfers around the entire plate. In keeping with the celestial theme, we’ve also incorporated a planet decoration above the arrow keys area. This plate not only securely holds all switches but also elevates your build from the inside out, creating an exquisite aesthetic from internal components to external appearance.

In addition to the new PEI plate, flex-cut ALU plate with glossy chamfer, we also offer regular ALU plate, Carbon Fiber and PP plates for your selection.

Acoustic Package

While the Neo80 Cu delivers satisfying typing sound without any foam, every unit includes a complete acoustic package with Poron PCB foam, a PE sheet, and case foam. You can either maintain the signature "no-foam" sound or customize your acoustic experience, this kit gives you full control over your keyboard’s sound profile.
