Vella was created from a simple idea that a gaming keyboard can look elegant, feel great to type on, and still perform at a competitive level. As someone who plays games regularly and loves custom keyboards, I always felt that most cases were made for either gamers or enthusiasts, but rarely both. I wanted something that could bring those two worlds together.

To make that happen, we had to start with the right foundation. We chose the Venom 60 HE from Geonworks because it is fast, stable, supports multiple layout options, and constantly releases firmware updates based on user feedback. In our view, it is one of the best Hall Effect PCBs available today, and Vella was tailored specifically around it.

Most HE compatible cases on the market are unibody designs limited to WK layouts and use tray mounting, which often leads to a stiff typing experience and less refined acoustics. Vella was designed to address these shortcomings. While it keeps the unibody form for cost efficiency, it features removable blockers that let users choose freely between WK, WKL, or HHKB layouts. It also incorporates carbon fiber accents and a clean, well balanced case design to bring together both aesthetics and performance.

Vella PE, or Performance Edition, is made for users like me, people who care about how their keyboard feels, looks, and responds, and who do not want to sacrifice one aspect for another. I wanted to show that a gaming keyboard does not have to be stiff, flashy, or filled with RGB. It can be elegant, minimal, and built to perform.

Quality Standard Notice

This product is manufactured using CNC-machined anodized/coated aluminum and carbon fiber. Each unit is inspected under normal indoor lighting at a standard viewing distance. Quality control applies only to surfaces visible after full assembly. 

1. Anodized and Spay Coated Aluminum (Visible Surfaces Only)

The following cosmetic characteristics are considered acceptable:

  • Dents: localized surface deformation with a maximum diameter of ≤ 1.0 mm
  • Scratches: linear surface marks with a maximum length of ≤ 3.0 mm, non-tactile under a light fingernail test. Internal scratches or machining marks on non-visible surfaces
  • Minor anodizing grain, shade variation, anode hanger point, and fine machining marks visible only at close distance or specific angles

2. Carbon Fiber Components

Carbon fiber is a layered composite material. The following are considered acceptable:

  • Minor weave or resin texture variation
  • Internal or hidden surfaces may show burrs, edge chips, microcracks, or exposed fibers from internal plies caused by machining

These characteristics do not affect fit, function, or structural integrity

3. Functional Quality Standard

The product must be fully functional, with no issues affecting normal operation or usability. Cosmetic characteristics within the standards above are not considered functional defects.

4. Accessories & Tooling

Minor cosmetic defects on included tools or accessories (e.g., bruised or marked plates) are considered acceptable and do not qualify as product defects.

5. Assembly, Returns, and Acknowledgement

Products that have been assembled are not eligible for exchange or return. By completing a purchase, the customer acknowledges and accepts the material characteristics and quality standards described above.
